Welcome to the Waukesha North Boys’ Basketball Classic Tournament.  Your participation is vital and greatly appreciated.  We have attached the tournament brackets with your scheduled game times.  Here are just a few reminders regarding the tournament.

 Sportsmanship is a priority.  Rude conduct and disorderly events will not be tolerated.  This goes for fans and teams alike.  Remember it is your responsibility as coaches to control not only yourselves but also your players and their parents.

 

 Tournament Rules:

  1. Length of Game - There will be two 20-minute halves with a running clock. The clock will only stop the last two minutes of each half. Half time is 3 minutes in length.  Clock will not stop in the last 2 mins of the game if the lead is greater than 15 points.

  2. Timeouts - You will have three timeouts per game.  If the game goes into overtime, there will be no carryover of unused timeouts however each team will receive one time out in the overtime period.

  3. Ties - Ties will result in an overtime period.  2 minute overtime period (last 2 minutes of half rules apply).  Fouls carry over into overtime.  If still tied after 1st overtime, the 2nd overtime will be sudden death.

  4. Zone Defenses – Grades 6th to 8th may play any defense they choose.  3rd to 5th only man-to-man defense is allowed.  Help defense is allowed but no double-teaming.  It is up to the discretion of the referees to enforce.

  5. Pressing - Grades 6th to 8th may press at any time using zone or man-to-man presses.  Grades 3rd to 5th pressing is allowed only during the final 2 minutes of each half.  Man-to-man press only.  No backcourt pressing is allowed once your team is winning by 15 points or more.

  6. Warm-ups - Teams should bring their own basketball to use during warm-ups.

  7. Fouls - Technical and intentional fouls will result in two points and possession of the ball.  If any player or coach receives two technical fouls in a game they will be ejected from the game and they will not be allowed to play/coach in the next game.

  8. Coaches– One coach per team may stand during their respective game.  Any player or coach that is kicked out of a game will not be eligible to play/coach in their teams next game.

  9. Uniforms – Teams should bring a light and dark colored jersey.  All jerseys must have numbers.

  10. Awards - Awards will be provided to 1st and 2nd place.  12 awards will be available per team.

  11. Tie Breakers – seeding for the 4th game in each division will be determined by overall record.  In the event of ties, the following tiebreakers will be used:

    1. Point Differential (max 15 points per game)

    2. Points Allowed

    3. Points Scored

    4. Coin Flip

  12. In exceptional circumstances, the tournament director reserves the right to adjust rules to ensure safety and to ensure the tournament can be completed.  All decisions by the tournament director are final.

  13. Each team must provide a volunteer to run the scoreboard or keep the score sheet.

  14. All other WIAA rules will be enforced.
